Update 7.29.20
This update comes after Governor Lee's announcement on 7.28.20 stating that it is his desire that schools open in-person and remain in session as much as possible. White County submitted our school plan to the state last week and it was approved by the TN Department of Education. Our district will open for the first day of school on August 7th, 2020 and we will still be using the hybrid schedule to start the year (1/2 students on M/ TU and 1/2 students on TH/ FRI). Our plan is to stay on that schedule through August and monitor the COVID-19 cases in the meantime. IF the infection rate is low, then we may consider opening 5 days per week. However, if the infection rate is moderate or high, then we will either continue the hybrid model or retreat to a fully-online method of schooling. In any scenario, White County Schools plan to keep families informed and will attempt to give as much prior notice in the event of a schedule change. If you need assistance as we begin the year, please contact your child's school. Phone calls and emails work best. Please continue to do your part to keep the spread of the Coronavirus under control and thank you for your continued support.
