The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program provides academic support and enrichment designed to help students meet state and local standards. The 21st CCLC program provides a broad array of activities and services that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students.
To improve student grades, behavior, and attendance through challenging after-school programming.
The 21st CCLC program meets each school day from 3:00-5:30(Monday-Thursday). The program begins with a free, healthy snack provided by the school nutrition department. If the school is dismissed early for inclement weather, the after-school program will not meet.
Performance Goal 1: All students will reach high academic standards at a minimum attaining proficiency or better in reading/language arts and mathematics.
Performance Goal 2: All students will exhibit positive behavior changes that support academic and social growth.
Performance Goal 3: The percentage of students who are chronically absent from school will decrease.
Performance Goal 4: Family engagement will be embedded in the entirety of the program.
Throughout the year special activities are planned to promote family involvement. Parents are encouraged to show support of the program and their children by attending these special events. Family members are also invited to speak with their school's site coordinator about additional opportunities for involvement in the program.
Various organizations and businesses have agreed to serve as partners in the 21st CCLC program. These partners enhance the program by sharing special skills or expertise.
