Accountability and Testing

Beginning in the 2015-16 school year, TNReady will become the state’s new and improved TCAP test for English language arts and math in grades 3-11. It will provide us with more and better information about our students’ progress. The new TNReady TCAP tests are designed to assess true student understanding and not just basic memorization and test-taking skills. TNReady will measure student understanding of our current state standards in English language arts and math, not the previous SPIs

Career-Technical Education

The Career and Technical Education program at White County High School offers students instruction and experience specific to various occupations and presents them with pathways to post-secondary education, certification, and careers.

Our CTE programs emphasize high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand occupational programs designed to meet our community needs.

Curriculum

Tennessee has adopted standards to prepare students with the most important knowledge and skills to attain higher education or careers and compete in an increasingly competitive work environment. These standards will emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. The transition will also include new assessments that will give students, parents, and educators better information about college- and career-readiness based on performance beyond multiple-choice tests.

Teacher & Administrator Evaluation

The Tennessee Educator Acceleration Model (TEAM) is about principals and teachers working together to ensure that students benefit from the best possible instruction every day. Through a combination of frequent observations, constructive feedback, student data, and meaningful professional development, the new system is designed to support all educators so they can do their best work in the classroom and help every student learn and grow.
